First of all, I'm not going to complaing about coverage, because all the decent gymnasts (Bhardwaj, Maloney, and Powell) were shown just fine. OK, I would have liked to see Beck's beam, but that's nothing too major, I'm sure ESPN will show it.

Day 1:

Vanessa Atler

OK, I think Vanessa Atler should stop complaining about the age limit. If you don't like the rules, either keep it to yourself or switch sports. And I don't care if people are always asking her about it. The phrase "No comment" was designed for that situation. With Atler, beam and floor sucked, but vault ruled. (No bars routine shown) In case you care, I really don't like her floor music.

Kristy Powell

Kristy Powell is one of my favorite gymnasts. OK, her difficulty isn't quite there yet, but I like her artistry. All three of the events I saw were great. Her vaults are high and clean......so what if she doesn't compete a Yurchenko double. I want a vault title for her and I want it now! Her bars are very good, I love the reverse hecht, Geinger combo. And a HUGE dismount.

Mohini Bhardwaj

Mohini is great. I really respect her for hanging on this long. I really wish she had done better at Olympic Trials and made the team. Then the US would've sent ONE good gymnast. OK, her beam wasn't the best, but floor was great with good tumbling and fresh, hip music and cheorography. Her vaults have always been awesome, and she got REAL height on her full-twisting double layout dismount on bars. (Take notes Atler.)

Kristen Maloney

I LOVED Kristen at the ITC. She was great. Now......where is Kristen and what have you done with her? I think her evil twin showed up and decided to make her suck. Her bars was awful, besides the dismount. Her beam, usually very cool was shaky, and floor......well I never liked the music, but tumbling was just plain BAD.

Lindsey Wing

If somebody gives her more food she has potential. Her floor, though I hated the music, had very nice tumbling. But doesn't she look a little TOO skinny? I've met naturally thin people (haven't we all) and none have been that skinny.

Dominique Moceanu

On floor she had no spark, and vault she couldn't do a difficult, clean one to save her life, and bars she just plain sucked. I rest my case.

Day 2:

Vanessa Atler

Beam was improved, though I still saw no reason to praise it all that much, floor.......somebody please get her decent music! On vault she once again was great (I still want Kristy to win that event though) and bars, well, she fell and got it back together. Yes sure, people say she didn't, but she really did. She's just so bad on that event no one noticed. Please give me Kristy!

Kristy Powell

Now let's get to the bright spot of the competition. Kristy Powell. Her floor is great, equipped with good dance and tumbling, her vault........well, she's National Champion in my eyes! On bars she was very, very good once again, I still love how high that dismount goes! If only she would do it in a layout. Beam was very, very solid, I really liked her tumbling pass. GO KRISTY!

Mohini Bhardwaj

Yes, Mohini was awesome once again. (Should we be surprised?) She even improved on beam, although she did make a mistake on her side somi. (But how many gymnasts throw a side somi? I rest my case.)

Kristen Maloney

From what NBC showed, Kristen's evil twin once again ruined her bars, but the Kristen came back and gave an AWESOME performance on beam.

Jamie Danztscher

Well, I like this gymnast. What can I say? I really like her floor. Sure, she messed up vault, but she usually does OK on that event. Her only problem is inconsistency. Hopefully, that'll go away by the 1999 Worlds.

Dominique Moceanu

Her floor had no spark, she couldn't do a high and clean vault to save her life, her bars just plain sucked, and her beam needed more difficulty. I rest my case.
